"I'm weak, I can't do it without God."  A former "graduate" of Yard 5 prison ministry at Donovan State prison was on the other end of the phone, sharing this insight in a broken voice, understanding that he cannot kick drugs and alcohol out of his life without God's daily help.  A planned admission to a rehabilitation unit was aborted by the unit on the basis he was on a drug they could not manage his withdrawal from.  The story is heart-wrenching and it goes on but hope dawns eternal because his realization is so profound.   As the children's song "Jesus loves me "says, "we are weak but he is strong."  Only with Christ can we remain aware of our own weaknesses and his strength is the only way we can overcome our too-numerous-to-count imperfections.  Those that we serve through prison ministry are no different than we are, sinners in need of a Savior; they are often just more honest.  2 Corinthians 12:9 "And he said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee:  for my strength is made perfect in weakness...”   Gail
